With over five years of professional experience, Sara holds a B.S. degree in Textiles & Clothing from University of California, Davis, and an M.F.A. Journalism degree from Academy of Art University. In November 2016, she leveraged her leadership and team building skills to co-found the San Francisco Women's Group in the city. The outreach group has goals to turn it into a nonprofit by the end of 2017. SFWG's mission focuses on advancing female leadership in the San Francisco Bay Area community through education, creative marketing and activism.
Originally from the bright city of San Diego, Sara enjoys a good blend of cultural and political interests. Having traveled to parts of Europe and lived in Sydney, Australia, she kicked off her career working for fashion brand, Bec & Bridge, as a marketing assistant. It was here that Sara built a career on storytelling and brand development.
Presently, Sara resides in the "artsy", creative zone known as the Mission District in San Francisco, CA. A regular contributor of the San Francisco Chronicle Newspaper's, Style Section, Sara has produced various cover stories over the years, as well as video stories for SFGate.
Her writing, photos, videos, graphics, and art direction have been published in the San Francisco Chronicle Newspaper, SF Gate, SOMA Magazine, SF Indie Fashion, RACKED, Refinery 29, Digital Style Digest, and Fashion School Daily. Sara's career as a writer and marketing professional has presented many projects; including ghost writing two books, one related to beauty and the other a book on dating and relationships, styling a music video and styling an Emmy Award nominee in 2014 for Best Original Song.
Growing up a half Iranian girl in a white world gives Sara a unique commentary on social standpoints, as well as a strong penchant for gold accessories and exotic textiles. In her spare time, she enjoys live music, traveling to faraway places, photography, and working as a freelance journalist.
